Prices are based on the total sq inches of the quilt (length in inches x width in inches= total area in sq inches).
Prices are for 2008 and are subject to change without notice. There will be a minimum quilting fee of $35.
All-Over Quilting- $0.020/sq inch
Custom- starting at $0.03/sq inch (prices are based on the complexity of the quilting)
Thread Fees- $4.50 per quilt for standard thread types and $6.50 per quilt for specialty threads for the first color. A color change fee of $2 per additional color will be added when requesting multiple colors.
**Quilt tops are accepted by appointment or by mail. Please do not send any quilts until you have called to set up an initial consultation. We strive to complete the work in a timely fashion, but each quilt is quilted in its turn.
PLEASE NOTE: While we will do our best to minimize them, we will not be responsible for wrinkles, puckers or fullness that has been pieced into the quilt.

Quilting to fit your style--
All-Over Quilting- A basic meander or pantograph design quilted over the entire quilt from one edge to the other.
Custom- There are many combinations to choose from to enhance the piecing of your quilt. For example, choose from a single design in the center of the quilt with a second design in the border, a denser freehand design for an artistic style, or select inset motifs and stitch in the ditch for a more traditional look.
Other services:
• Batting types available are Hobbs Heirloom batting (80% cotton/ 20% poly), Quilter’s Dream Cotton, and Polyester Batting. You may also bring your own batting.
• If you need us to order a special thread color, the thread fee will be $6 for standard thread types and $8 for specialty threads.
• Binding service: Please provide ¾ yard of fabric. There is a fee of $1.25/linear foot to apply the binding to the front of the quilt. We use the French fold/double sided binding technique.
• There will be a fee of $15 for services such as piecing the backing, clipping threads, and pressing out excessive wrinkles. You will receive an estimate for services during your appointment.
Tips for quilt Preparation--
- Important- When choosing the fabric for the backing keep in mind the color of thread to be used and the color choice of the backing. (The thread used on the top must be the same for the back.) Since machine quilting requires backstitching to tie-off the quilting, the backstitching will be more noticeable if your thread contrasts your backing fabric. We recommend a complimentary print for the backing fabric.
- Tops need to be pressed with seams lying flat and all loose threads clipped from the front and back.
- Backing and batting should be four inches larger than the top on all sides. Backing must be square. Seams on pieced backs should be spaced evenly across the quilt back and should be pressed open.
